Hey,
Ok, this is kinda weird for me. I’m so used to writing content for other people that I’m not sure what to say about myself!
Let’s start with why I’m here: since I can remember, I’ve always had a passion for writing, reading and storytelling. When I was little, I loved (and still do) hearing my grandparents’ stories from 'back in their day', and my imagination can create the wildest fantasy from the smallest overheard comment.
I studied English with Creative Writing at Nottingham Trent University and at the time I didn’t really know what I wanted to do, but I heard a student had based their dissertation on Harry Potter and BOOM, I was sold.
During my time at Uni, I thought a career in journalism would be a great choice, but after discovering how cut-throat the industry is, I quickly realised it wasn’t a match for this tea drinking, puppy hugging, easy-going writer. So instead, I jumped straight into a post-uni trip around the world – the best thing I’ve ever done!
Since then, I’ve been a copywriter across multiple industries including retail, travel, greeting cards, weddings, eLearning and lots more. I’ve considered freelancing for a long time and after a year of dipping my toe into the water, whilst working a 9-5 job and part-time bar work, here I finally am.
I'm a social butterfly who's easily excited by a gluten-free goodie which isn't a brownie (we like over sweet treats too!), and I’m fascinated about learning new topics as well as meeting charismatic characters and discovering their story. If I can chuck in a bit of travelling, reading, or a rum or two, then I’m pretty content!
